The Middleware for the E. Resident Electronic Identification and Electronic Signature Means
In order to use the e. resident electronic identification and electronic signature means the owner of the means should download and install the following middleware:
Certificates of Root and Issuing Certificate Authorities
In order to validate certificates issued by the Identity Documents Personalisation Centre under the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania in rear cases the following certificates of Root and Issuing Certificate Authorities may need to be installed on the verifiers computer:
In most cases though the electronic signatures and certificates which support them would be verified on designated websites which makes the installation of the above provided certificates unnecessary.
Certificate Revocation Lists
The Identity Documents Personalisation Centre does not use certificate revocation lists to provide the revocation status of certificates issued to the end users. The revocation status of these certificates is provided by an online responder using the online certificate status protocol (OCSP) instead.
