The Middleware for E. Resident Electronic Identification and Electronic Signature Means

In order to use Lithuanian e. resident electronic identification and electronic signature means the owner of the means should download and install the following middleware:

• card middleware

  for Windows OS (64 bit)
• card middleware

  for macOS
• card middleware

  for Linux

Certificates of Root and Issuing Certificate Authorities

In order to validate certificates issued by the Migration Department under the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania in rear cases the following certificates of Root and Issuing Certificate Authorities may need to be installed on the verifiers computer:

• MD Root CA

  (expiry date 26-08-2040)
• MD CA

  (expiry date 27-08-2035)

In most cases though the electronic signatures and certificates which support them would be verified on designated websites which makes the installation of certificates provided above unnecessary.

Certificate Revocation Lists

The Migration Department does not use certificate revocation lists to provide the revocation status of certificates issued to end users. The revocation status of these certificates is provided by an online responder using the online certificate status protocol (OCSP) instead.
